Saturdays

If Jessica and Dustin think they have boring blogs, try this one.
To have a Saturday off with nothing scheduled is something that doesn't happen around here much. Since Christmas, we have had company from Mexico arriving on a Sat. Then last Saturday we were in a mall for six hours. Then comes today. We didn't exactly know what to do! In the years gone by, we have had soccer games, volleyball matches, swim meets, high school plays, and other activities that demanded our time. Now that we are folks with no children playing sports, and no friends children playing sports at this time. We were baffled as to what to do! We started out by sleeping in, then paying the bills. Rick then called the Direct TV dudes, they will be arriving soon, yeah right. We have been having trouble with the TIVO not recording programs, watching a DVD and then not being able to watch TV without resetting the whole thing. After three hours on the phone yesterday and an hour today, they are sending a guy out! The next activity of the day had Rick applying for a new job at Cal St. University Fullerton, putting new car seats on the car, and trimming the roses. Oh I think we each had a nap also! Pray for us as we wait for the process at Cal St. Fullerton, he was told it may take up to three months for an interview.
The best thing of the weekend was watching UCLA defeat both of the Oregon schools in basketball. It wasn't a total loss but I do miss college football followed by the pros on Sunday, Go SEATTLE! But soon little league baseball and high school baseball season will start and we will be busy watching our friends children play baseball. GO Falcons! But before that there are the Olympics! Thankfully God has given us good friends who have young children so we can go watch them play! And the kids like that we come.
That is our story of a rare weekend off together.
