Summer vacation

Summer vacation... It's nice to be off from work.  We started off by taking a trip to Costa Rica. We went with my brother and his family. Flew into San Jose, Costa Rica. Spent the night and rented a car and drove over to Libera. We had a condo to stay in.  We went swimming, snorkeling, swimming, eating, and the best was zip lining. Oh my gosh it was great. It is very very hot and humid in Costa Rica. I got sick the day after we went zip lining and have been sick for 3 weeks. Good times. I have become friends with the nurse and doctor, let the good times roll.

Rick has had a job interview, for a promotion at Cal St. Fullerton. It has taken them 9 months for the interview so who knows how long step 2 will take!

That is about all for now :)

Easter Break

Excellent week so far. I know it's only Tuesday. Yesterday cleaned out Chris's room. Took apart all the pictures of the kids and their soccer/baseball/softball teams. Took me a while but was able to download something from HP and today I scanned in all the pictures in the computer.

Went to the doctor today and he took a mole off my back, adjusted my meds and will have some nerve tests. Another antihistimine and nasal spray.  All in a days doctor appointment.

Tomorrow back to cleaning, and throwing and scanning, A GREAT week off

Howdy

I have been back at Granada for two exciting weeks. Testing my brains and mouth, my mouth lost most of the time.  I have this week off and needed it. I made reservations to go up to see the grandgirls on Mother's day weekend. They are having Abby dedicated at church. I figured that maybe one out of every three grandchildren we should go to it. We will fly out Friday morning and back Sunday evening. The week before that Rick will be with his three brothers fishing in Mexico. He will have a stop over at home then up to Oregon. Let the good times roll.
When I get back to school we will only have 8 weeks left of school until summer vacation. We have a lot of work to do to make sure they all get their shots before they start school in Sept. So no goofing off for me hehe yeah right! There is always time for fun.

April

It took six days for them to move me to Murphy Ranch, it took one phone call and 24 hours I was back at Granada. I started back on Tuesday. OH it's great to be back. Students that I see daily are happy. I'm happy and my boss is happy. All is well. We even prayed together today. I thought we should so we can be sensitive to each student daily meeting all of their needs. Not just physical. We had a great two days and it's back to work tomorrow. I have a lot to get done this month. Donita will be teaching classes so I will be alone with time to get work done.

Tuesday

Today I got to go sub at Granada. Hummm, I was excited, but stuff was so different. They had changed stuff in the cupboards, changed the room where the students rest, It was hard. Guess I did stuff that my boss didn't like the way I was doing stuff. Oh well but doesn't feel good. Feels like a don't have a home. Want to be at middle school but didn't feel comfortable there with the new health clerk being there, they had changed her house also. Confused. Wheelchair run at 1:45~~ hummmmm  I'm off but stayed to help them. nothing serious. just a different position to be in. Back but not, changes, missed new school. odd for that to happen. oh well moving on.

out of the box

Saturday we went out of our comfort zone, we went out of the house, out of Whittier, out of the county, and through another county and into a third county. It was a remember when there were no houses or business here, remember when we took the kids from church to Frontier Day camp and you drove the van when you were 16 down to Lake forest and there was nothing here. Then all the way back to Universal Studios for the afternoon. There is the ocean. The first smell at Laguna Niguel. Then oh my gosh, you can't even see South Carlsbad any more, you can't see the flowers from the freeway, Palamore Airport Road, the exit where nothing was there but the sign. Oh the nights we slept in the car so we could get a spot. Then it was San Diego. Not many old memories from there but new ones made. We met up with Josh and Leah Prtichard and there six month old son Knox. We walked the embaradero, and had chicago style pizza and then walked more and back to there hotel and then the drive home. I was working in the operating room at St. Francis Hospital when Josh was born. I received a call from the his father saying he was finally here, he was a tad late to say the least. He is a great young man with a beautiful wife Leah and a handsome son Knox. He is six months old and as cute as can be. We hadn't seen them in years but it didn't feel like that. No awkward pauses in conversation at all. Josh is a wizard with deals and if he applied for a credit card and used it once he got airfare for two to San Diego and a room at a hotel for the week for $25.00. Such a deal.  We drove home and was saddened that we didn't get stopped by the inspection station, another great memory gone by the wayside. Man the good old days. Great day.

Tomorrow is coming :)

tomorrow we are driving down to San Diego to visit friends, hopefully then I will have some pictures to post here. I know it's boring to just read about me complaining about my job. And it's not the job really. Change and I don't get along.

Time goes on

Time marches on. Sad part is I don't have children at home to blog about. Oh if computers were around when they were children. But I do have a life. I was working at Granada middle school up until February 22.  It's a long story and with a union and time served I was chosen to go to an elementary school. You are right I was not happy at all. I had been working as the RN at Granada for two months mostly working alone. My RN at the school was out for a family emergency. I stepped it up and ran the health office and now I lose 5 hours of work a week and now I'm working with children. They need love too but, I just really was enjoying working with my RN when she was around! We were a great team. God has something for me up here or he is teaching someone else something and I'm out of the way over at Granada.  I did find out that they have a Good News Club there. Now that is pretty exciting. I have know the principal for years and she is doing everything in her power to make me feel welcome.

I'm also still "working" with Bernebe their after school sports program. We have finished flag football and soccer. Basketball starts soon. Bernebe has also started a tutoring program we have had over 50 students each Monday and Wednesday.

Problems with Scum, and Campus Life, God is not a God of conflict. Praying for a compromise. God is not a God of conflict. God has to work a miracle here.

I have been sad at work, trying to be happy and figure stuff out. Kindergarten roundup starts on Monday, gee more work for me to do. I do enjoy imputing info and setting up the cums so it should be good times. At least it's a job with a beginning and end and It is evident what I have done! I am using this blog to figure out why not happy at Murphy Ranch. I think it's that I work alone. I mean out my door are people but I'm basically alone in the office with the kids. I have a hard time trying to figure out whose parents to call and whose to just treat and send back to class. I was giving false info about work that needs to be done there and after the first day there was this huge rumor going around that was a total lie. someone was trying to get me and the RN that has that school get into a fight. Give me break they don't know who they are messing with. I go to the source!

Here's what you have missed or not

So far at school we have had a broken arm, two broken fingers and a broken tibula and fibula. One of the broken fingers was jammed catching the football the others were from basketball.  Keeps us hopping. We also have a sore throat thing going around, no fever. But having a great time.

Yesterday I had an esophogospy they put you out in something called twlight sleep, yeah well why don't you talk to me how well that worked out. If there ever is a next time, all electronic devices must be removed and an adult needs to stay with me. Apparently I did some calling texting and letter writing that I don't remember at all. Good news with the tests. An ulcer that can be treated with medication.

Tonight is the AWANA leader training meeting. We start next week full on. this year I'm giving up the Sparks and just do games. We will be doing a lot of games from Minute to Win It!! Good laughs and pictures I hope.

Next up to start will be after school football at Lakeside Middle School.

Change

I'm going to change up the blog for a while. I thought I would tell you some good stories from being a health clerk.  Or just happy funny stories.

The second day of school, one week ago, we had our first broken arm of the season!! It's good to get that out of the way.  He wasn't able to get his arm set until Tuesday UGH that is a long time if you ask me!

We have been slow. Which has been nice because at the start of the year there is a lot of paper work to do. However today it hit the fan. I arrived at work and the Whittier police were already there. Chick fight in first period PE. come on ladies we haven't even started dressing yet! Next week let the games begin.
Then at lunch someone had scissors in their backpack. They claimed that a teacher had told them they needed them. Well when there might be a fight at lunch, and you have your scissors out "to trim your hair" gee do you think it looks suspicious???  Well you are up to date so far.  Oh wait, I forgot a parent was upset because I sent their student back to class. If he wasn't sick why did you call me??? UMMMM you told student that after math if he didn't feel well he could call you.....  he did ...... but he didn't have a fever, our job keep them in class..... oh well cranky parents.. deal they are in my world now!
